Hoffman Residence

Flint Hill, Virginia

The owner of this picturesque 125-acre farm, located along the banks of the Rappahannock River in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, wanted to adapt a barn into a residence as a rustic “getaway” for himself and his family. Because there were no existing barns on the property, an 18th-century style timber frame bank barn was designed and converted into a residence. The barn is designed with large sliding barn doors that open for light and majestic views of the mountains, yet allow the building to be completely closed when not inhabited.
