The Silva Project

Blackburn Architects has been retained to provide a master plan for a new equestrian facility on the island of Corfu in Greece for The Silva Project, a therapeutic riding center for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. The center plans to establish a breeding program for the Skyrian pony, a rare and ancient breed of horse found only in Greece. The firm is teaming with local Greek architect Arsenis Ringas of Corfu. The program includes an equestrian center with covered arena, public observation area, four five-stall barns, tack rooms, cafe, offices, amphitheater, community center with meeting rooms, dining facility, pool, and residential community with 25 two-bedroom bungalows.
