Liz joined Blackburn Architects in the fall of 2022.

She received her M.Arch from the University of Virginia, where she graduated with a faculty award for design excellence. During her time at UVA she collaborated closely with professors, contributing to their personal work and assisting with teaching on subjects including 3D-animation, drawing, structures, and digital fabrication. Before her foray into architecture, Liz graduated Magna Cum Laude from Skidmore College where she majored in Physics and minored in Studio Art.

Professionally, Liz spent 5 years at a high-end single-family firm where she received her architecture license and learned the ins and outs of residential design. She then spent 3 years in the public realm where she worked on commercial and institutional interiors, gaining experience in project management.

In addition to academic and architectural pursuits, Liz has had an ongoing relationship with the equestrian world, with experiences ranging from owning backyard horses, to managing and training at an eventing barn in Wellington, to caring for several strings of high-goal polo ponies all over the country, and more.
